BCOA’s Cheryl Wilson Memorial Fund Helps Broward Seniors

September 2021 – Joseph Pellicane
Mr. Pellicane is a 94 year old veteran who has been unable to pay the remaining $200.00 owed to his dental provider for his lower dentures. As a result Mr. Pellicane is not able to chew his food and his food has to be blended.  His son was working up until COVID-19 and now is only working part-time as needed.  The family is also facing eviction from their home and Operation Sacred Trust is assisting them with housing solutions.  BCOA’s Cheryl WIlson Memorial Fund paid his dental bill.

May 2022 – 56 Year Old Female
This 56 year old female, in a household caring for her 84 year old mother and 35 year old son, had knee surgery and does not have the income from her job at the laundry during her recovery.  She has fallen behind on her bills and is facing eviction and disconnection of her utilities.  She was directed to EHEAP for assistance with FPL and BCOA’s Cheryl Wilson Memorial Fund paid her past due water bill and past due rent.

May 2022 – Ellen Dupree
Ms Dupree is an employed 62 year who was out of work due to the flooding.  Her recent surgery put her behind in her bills so she requested help and BCOA’s Cheryl WIlson Memorial Fund paid her water bill.
